about us

Offset Emissions is situated at “Loch Dean”, a property on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, Australia.

Prior to being purchased by the current owner, Gregory Ellers, the property had been used for sheep grazing since it was cleared by ball and chain in 1952. As a result, the soil and vegetation was badly degraded.

Gregory was inspired to plant trees by an animated movie he had seen in 1987, called “The Man who Planted Trees”, directed by Frédéric Back and starring Philippe Noiret and Christopher Plummer. It is the true story of one shepherd’s long and successful, single-handed effort to re-forest a desolate valley in the foothills of the Alps near Provence, throughout the first half of the 20th century.

We are delighted that through our dedicated tree planting activities, Loch Dean has become a haven for native flora and fauna and we are committed to continuing to implement new strategies to save the planet for future generations.

We welcome your help to help us help our planet!
